I'm using Obi Softbody to simulate a small bag of sand that can be thrown and shake.
is there is a way to remove the jelly effect? please check the video.

Hello, for some reason part of my rope don't move with ropes end(as shown)- what could be a cause?

And even when i stretch rope stretches only part before this unmoving part...

P.S. and another question- how to make just model from rope(static, notUpdating caple)

  Rope following nozzle problem

Am trying to simulate a hose with a nozzle on it. The nozzle has a rigidbody and also an obi collider and obi rigidbody attached. 
On the robe there are 4 particle attachments 2 for the fire extinguisher and 2 attached to the nozzle. Both are positioned close to the ends of the rope.

Problem is that to rope end won't follow the nozzle when I move the nozzle (in VR). There is a slide delay when moving.
I've tried static as wel as dynamic for the attachments (and combinations) but nothing helps. Best results I get is with static because with dynamic the rotation for the rope and is way off.

Below you can see what I mean. 

Does anyone has suggestions to fix this?

  Rope not colliding with Obi Colliders after upgrading to 6.2

I am pretty sure I was using 6.1 previously with no issues. 
I create a rope at runtime...similar to the grapple hook demo. This was working perfectly before, but now my ropes do not collide with obi colliders after upgrading.
is there anything extra we need to do now to get the ropes to collide properly? Similar issue in the 'Chains' demo. Also noticed some differences in the components. Maybe there is a variable that needs to be changed?

Test steps
- Open 'Chains' Demo
- Press Play
- Drag box around
- Chain goes through the floor

  2D rope-rope collision goes through

Hello I'm trying to stack two ropes on top of each other in 2D environment. I enabled both self-collision and surface-collision settings but ropes are still going through each other. What might be the cause of this problem?

Hello,

I'd like to ask this- in your sample Rocker scene in editor(all burst steps made) on my system fps with and without solver jumps from 96 to 76- for 1 meter rope with 12 particles it's too big (imo)- it is standart or some issue?

Would it be possible to impliment some workflow features common to weight painting into the blueprint editor?

  • Mirror painting
  • Transfer painting between blueprints (Akin to transfer weights between different meshes based on distance)
  • Transfer painting between layers (backstop to backstop radius to skin radius for instance)
  • Scale all by a value (perhaps you want to double the backstop radius of every particle. Currently you have to repaint)

  Need fixed width rope with no stretching at all

Hi guys, I play with Obi Rope 6 for few days and I can`t resolve one simple scenario. I want rope with fixed width(for example 5 meters) and want no stretching at all. But when I add Obi Particle Renderer I see how particles is group 2 by 2 and between every group of 2 particles there is a gap(in pink color) which is stretching. I play around with Obi Solver substeps(set it to 8), with Obi Solver Distance constraint(set it to 30). But I can get simple non stretchy rope.

Second scenario I testing: Just add a bar(cube with sizes 0.2x0.2x4) add Obi collider to it and try to move the rope through this bar. For some time the rope is collide with the bar but in some moment, when the gap between the particles is big enough, the bar just passes through the rope.

Any help will be appreciated.

P.S. This excellent plugin deserves better video tutorials for beginners.
