Full Version: How to soften the stick

How can I determine the softness of an object?

For example, place a long stick horizontally in the air.
If you soften the hardness of this stick, the stick will bend, and so on.

I just want to do the same thing as DeformationGradient in Samples, but I don't know how to achieve this.

To control softbody stiffness, set the softbody's deformation resistance, under its shape matching constraints section:

Note softbodies are isotropic, that means stiffness acts equally in all directions. If you have a long stick, you can't independently control bending, stretching and twisting stiffness. In that case, ObiRope is a better alternative as it's designed for stick/rod/rope like objects that are long and thin.
