It's all coming from EditorApplication.Internal_InvokeTickEvents() if I understand this correctly.
Would it be possible for you to enable deep profiling, to see deeper into the call stack beneath Internal_InvokeTickEvents?
I'm specially interested in the timeline view's main thread, btw (the pyramid graph at the bottom).
