Without a more in depth description of your setup, all I can do is guess....

Maybe you attached the rope to inside the collider? This will of couse cause weird behavior, as the collider is pushing the rope outside and the attachmebt pushing it inside. The solution would be to set both to the same phase, as explained here: http://obi.virtualmethodstudio.com/tutor...aints.html
