You can only use the "fix position" option. This is explained here: http://obi.virtualmethodstudio.com/tutorials/particleediting.html Quote: "Note that the fix button will only be enabled if the ObiActor makes use of oriented particles. Currently the only ones that do are ObiRod and ObiSoftbody." RE: [newbie question] - Can't 'fix' particles ? Everywhere else even in your page http://obi.virtualmethodstudio.com/tutorials/particleediting.html "fixing" is enabled. So ... how do I fix a particle ? In that version, you could only fix particle positions, because Obi did not implement oriented particles yet. Now you can fix both particle positions and orientations , or only particle positions. However, not all kinds particles have orientation information. In particular, cloth particles only have a position. So cloth only allows you to use the "fix position" button, which behaves in the same way as the old "fix" button. Read the first few paragraphs of the particle editor manual page, there you'll find a small guide on how to fix cloth particles: http://obi.virtualmethodstudio.com/tutorials/particleediting.html |
