need sticky liquid - KBTIT_ - 09-04-2024 How can we describe a very sticky liquid, like oil? For example, something that takes a very long time to fall when it hits a vertical wall. First, I set Viscosity to 2, using this page as a reference. http://obi.virtualmethodstudio.com/manual/6.3/emittermaterials.html There was indeed a change, but it is still not enough. Next, I changed the Gravity of the Buoyancy and Obi Solver so that it takes longer to fall. These are fine if only a little, but changing them significantly can cause undesirable visual effects, such as slower falling speeds. Therefore, I would like to know if there are any other parameters other than these that would affect the stickiness if changed. RE: need sticky liquid - josemendez - 09-04-2024 Hi, Viscosity only affects how viscous the flow is, but doesn’t have any effect on how sticky it is when hitting a surface. That is controlled by the collision material’s “stickiness” and “dynamic friction” parameters. https://obi.virtualmethodstudio.com/manual/6.3/collisionmaterials.html Also, see the ViscousFluid sample scene for an example of a fluid that is both viscous and sticky. |
