Simulation of modeling clay - altalias - 20-02-2018 Hi, This is a long shot, but i was curious if Obi Fluid is flexible enough to simulate solid materials that undergo plastic deformations. I don't need accurate simulations, just something that works close enough to allow a material to hold it's shape and be bent/folded in a way that's relatively predictable. As far as i've researched, particle-based solutions seem to be the best way to do this. Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7js12tGFVA RE: Simulation of modeling clay - josemendez - 20-02-2018 (20-02-2018, 06:46 PM)altalias Wrote: Hi, HI there, Unfortunately not, Obi does not model material plasticity at all. Even if it did, the necessary resolution to accurately simulate clay modeling is far above realtime capabilities of current CPUs (even most GPUs). This is usually done using voxel-based approaches or mesh vertex displacement (think ZBrush or Modo sculpting tools) cheers! |
